Apple (Malus) Cox SF/James Grieve/Katy (Family)

A brilliant choice for smaller gardens or anyone who wants variety without needing space for three separate trees. This family tree carries three grafted branches, each producing its own distinct, delicious apple, all ripening in succession across late summer and autumn.

'Katy' — the earliest to ripen, from late August to early September. A Swedish-bred variety (a cross of James Grieve and Worcester Pearmain), producing strikingly rosy-red apples with firm, juicy flesh, a well-balanced sweet-sharp flavour, and a hint of strawberry. Excellent fresh, and great for juicing.

'James Grieve' — ready from September. A classic Scottish dual-purpose apple dating from 1893, with crisp, juicy, red-flushed green fruit. Pleasantly sharp when first picked, mellowing to a mild sweetness after a few weeks — lovely eaten fresh or used in cooking.

'Cox's Self Fertile' — the last to ripen, in October. A highly coloured, self-fertile clone of the classic Cox's Orange Pippin, with the same rich, aromatic flavour and crisp texture that has long made Cox one of Britain's best-loved eating apples.

All three varieties cross-pollinate freely with one another, so no separate pollinating partner is needed — the tree is fully self-contained.

Grown on semi-vigorous MM106 rootstock, reaching approximately 3–4m in height and spread at maturity — suitable as a bush or half-standard tree.
