A versatile oxygenating pond plant with tangled, reddish stems densely clothed in fine, feathery, whorled foliage. It grows to around 15-25cm, happily above the water surface or fully submerged, and produces tiny red flowers in summer.
Upright Water Milfoil grows well in shallow water or boggy margin soil to a depth of around 25cm, in full sun or partial shade, and provides excellent cover for aquatic wildlife while helping to keep pond water clear. It's low-maintenance, needing little more than an occasional trim to keep growth in check.
