A classic, historic rambler bred by René Barbier in France in 1909, and now sold through David Austin's rambling rose collection. Bears flat, quartered blooms in a rich crimson-pink with quilled petals surrounding a green eye and yellow stamens, carrying a strong, fruity fragrance reminiscent of apples. Mainly a single glorious flush in early-to-midsummer, though it often produces a good scattered repeat crop in early autumn. Vigorous, with few thorns and dark, glossy foliage that stays healthy and attractive all season. Famously used to clothe the garden trellises at the Roseraie de L'Haÿ-les-Roses near Paris. Holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Reaches around 3.5–8m in height depending on support, with a spread of up to 3.5m — ideal for a large wall, pergola, or growing up into a mature tree.

Each rose is hand-selected to reach you in the best possible condition.
