A classic, award-winning Japanese Anemone forming an upright clump of dark green, deeply cut foliage. From late summer into autumn, it sends up graceful, branching stems topped with elegant pure white flowers with contrasting yellow centres — a welcome burst of colour just as the rest of the garden begins to fade. Reaching 1–1.5m in height with a spread of 0.5–1m, it's an RHS Award of Garden Merit winner and a lovely choice for the back of a border, cottage gardens, or woodland-edge planting. Long-blooming and popular with pollinators, the flowers also make excellent cut flowers.
Planting & care: Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil in sun or dappled shade — part shade is best in hotter, drier spots, as foliage can scorch in full sun. Once established, it spreads readily by rhizomes to form generous clumps, so it's worth keeping an eye on its spread in smaller borders. Avoid waterlogged soil over winter, and tidy back old growth in early spring before new shoots appear. Taller stems may benefit from light staking in exposed spots.
Each plant is hand-selected to ensure it arrives ready to thrive in your garden.
