Spread over beds and borders, they help suppress weeds and hold moisture in the soil. Limestone is naturally alkaline, so it’s best kept away from acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and blueberries. For the same reason it isn’t recommended for fish ponds. Rinse before use, or let rainfall wash away any natural quarry dust.
