taylors-bulbs-seed-potatoes-mozart
Taylors Bulbs Seed Potatoes Mozart Pack

Mozart is a tasty red-skinned maincrop from leading Dutch breeder HZPC, introduced in 2003 and prized for combining good looks with genuinely excellent flavour. It produces large, very uniform, oval tubers with an attractive sunrise-red skin, shallow eyes and yellow flesh. Its smooth, slightly firm texture holds together well and doesn’t darken after cooking, making it a versatile choice for boiling, roasting, baking and wedges.

Mozart is a reliable cropper that sizes up well, with good resistance to common and powdery scab and good tolerance of bruising. It’s also an excellent keeper, so a good harvest will store well into the winter months. Chitting is optional for maincrops but helps give a strong start. Plant out in April once the soil has warmed, around 10cm deep and 40cm apart, avoiding cold conditions. Earth up as the shoots develop so the tubers stay covered, as potatoes exposed to light turn green and shouldn’t be eaten. Water well during dry spells and keep an eye out for blight in warm, humid weather. Your crop should be ready from late summer into autumn, around 120 days after planting. As Mozart has a thin skin, leave the tubers in the ground for a few weeks after the foliage dies back so the skins can firm up before lifting and storing.

Each pack is checked before dispatch.
