seed-potato-vivaldi
Seed Potato Vivaldi 2kg Pack

Vivaldi is a versatile second early that has become a firm favourite with home growers, holding the RHS Award of Garden Merit and taking top spot in Gardeners’ World’s trial of the best new potatoes to grow. Bred in the Netherlands, it produces oval tubers with smooth, thin, pale yellow skins, few shallow eyes and pale yellow flesh with a rich, buttery flavour and naturally creamy texture. Lifted as a second early, the flesh is slightly waxy and holds its shape well, ideal for boiling and potato salads. Leave it in the ground a little longer and it becomes more floury, making excellent mash, roasties and jacket potatoes.

Vivaldi shows good resistance to scab and grows well in the ground or in large containers and potato bags, in full sun or partial shade. Chit your seed potatoes on a cool, bright windowsill for four to six weeks, then plant out from March to April, around 10cm deep and 30cm apart. Earth up as the shoots develop so the tubers stay covered, as potatoes exposed to light turn green and shouldn’t be eaten. Water well during dry spells, particularly around flowering, and your first potatoes should be ready to lift from early summer, around 14 to 16 weeks after planting. Supplied in a 2kg pack, ideal for a good-sized row or several potato bags.

Each pack is checked before dispatch.
