It’s ideal for pots, containers and potato bags, and also grows well under cover for an even earlier crop. Grown alongside later varieties, it helps extend your harvest by several weeks. Chit your seed potatoes on a cool, bright windowsill for four to six weeks, then plant out from March, around 10cm deep and 30cm apart. Earth up as the shoots develop to protect them from late frosts and keep the tubers covered, as potatoes exposed to light turn green and shouldn’t be eaten. Keep well watered during warm weather, and your first potatoes should be ready to lift from late May or early June, around 10 weeks after planting.
