It's more compact and refined than many miscanthus, reaching around 1–1.5m in height with a spread of 0.5–1m, and its restrained habit makes it well suited to smaller gardens, courtyards, and even large containers where taller miscanthus wouldn't fit. Leave the foliage standing over winter for structure and wildlife shelter, then cut back hard in early spring before new growth appears.
