Smooth, small, dark green leaves turn a striking clear yellow in autumn before falling, and yellow male catkins up to 10cm long open in early spring.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eA large, conical deciduous tree, 'Saint George' is best suited to bigger gardens, parks or landscape planting where its handsome bark and reliable autumn colour can be enjoyed at a distance, as well as up close.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eGrow in full sun or partial shade, in any reasonably fertile, moist but well-drained soil — this variety is genuinely versatile, tolerating chalk, clay, loam and sand.
